Big John’s Meats was established in 2016 in Avoyelles Parish, located in the outskirts of Marksville, Louisiana.  The meat market quickly became a household name in our community.  In early 2020, when the previous owners announced their intentions to sell the business, we purchased the 4 year old meat market.  Our first day in business was March 16, 2020, the first day the national pandemic shut down Louisiana.  While we were unsure of how this would impact our business at the time, we decided to push through, do our best, and be there as an essential grocery business to serve our hometown community.  

We offer various cuts of beef, pork, and chicken.  Everything is cut in house, along with fresh ground meat daily. We have a variety of smoked and fresh sausage.  We also offer an extensive assortment of specialty meat products.
